Professor Donald W. Byo

Professor Donald W. ByoJoined the W.D. Packard Concert Band as principal bassoonist in 1957. In 1984 he was asked to become co-conductor of the Band along with Robert Fleming.

In 1992 he retired from the Dana School of Music, where he taught and had been Director for twenty-nine years. He continues to be active as the principal bassoonist in the Youngstown Symphony, the Warren Chamber Orchestra, and the Dana Woodwind Quintet. He spent twenty years playing various woodwinds as a member of the Kenley Players Orchestra.
